Designed to inspire, Atix—'the one who thrives in Quechua', is an original concept influenced strongly by the Bolivian culture. Atix strives to create unique experiences for guests and customers by spreading its passion for Bolivian culture, art and gastronomy. Atix actively empowers local Bolivian artisans and their products, supports quality culinary education and practices environmental responsibility.

Set in the Zona Sur district at 3200 m.s.n.m., Atix is located in the vibrant, exclusive neighborhood of Calacoto, approximately 20 minutes from downtown and 40 minutes from El Alto International Airport. Guests are walking distance from boutique cafes, clothing stores, restaurants and the green line in the Zona Sur district, which is part of the world’s longest and highest cable car system.

We conceptualized the architectural and interior design as well as the construction of the hotel. Modern and chic, each of the 53 rooms is designed to be a comfortable artistic space, filled with local pieces.  From details like a serene photography collection to hand-crafted furniture and dramatic bay-window views, the rooms are meant to be full sensory experiences. Local comanche stone, which paved the streets of La Paz in the 1920s, embellish the facade and interior of the hotel. Local materials in the guest rooms include flagstone and native wood, and the restaurant features a custom leather wall inspired by a country with a proud heritage of cattlemen.
