New Kitchen Upgrade

Located in the village of Upper Brookville, New York, this kitchen extension and remodel was crafted by architect Stuart Narofsky FAIA and interior designer Jennifer Rusch of Narofsky Architecture with eggersmann NYC.
The homeowners are son and daughter-in-law of longtime clients of Narofsky. The parents still live in the home that the architectural and design firm designed for them over 25 years ago. Prior to this project, the firm worked on the son’s Manhattan apartment. Working with Narofsky has become a family tradition.
When our clients purchased the property, it was in disrepair. The original small kitchen was originally built in the late 1980s and designed for a chef to cook, not as an area for family and friends to gather.
The homeowners desired a modern family-oriented kitchen that functions well. So, we expanded the footprint and opened the space adding highly functional hidden storage and a center island for gathering for informal dining, party buffets, or hanging out with the cook.
